Small little something that died

Earlier today I was admiring this sexy netbook with Meego, a version of Linux. After watching some videos on Youtube, I was really attracted to it.
Not two minutes ago, I saw this article mentioning Meego is shut down and replaced by another version of Linux that supports tablet, cellphones, notebook, internet tv... wow.
I was really turned down byu how quick the previous project died. How many people now have that version of netbook, with small SSD and a dead OS? That's not cool.
