Getting to the pages in Gmail

Trying to get to that email that is buried in the middle of tons of emails? I was frustrated when I stumbled to this page:

Turned out, you just find the part of the URL where it says P10 or something like that. That is the PAGE NUMBER, if you will. So replace it with the number of page that you want. Pretty simple.
Now why is Google not making a simple interface on the page, instead of having people meddling with the URL? That seems like a simple change to do.
