A remote computing extension is in beta version available for Chrome, dubbed simply, Chrome Remote Desktop.
Reminded me enough of VNC or any of its clones.
Distinct difference is:
1. You need a Gmail account to download the extension
2. You don't need any address information, your browser generate some random numbers for you every session.
Didn't see anything supporting file transfer, though.
