5 Miles is an interesting thought. It broadcast your message to any 5 Miles users that is in your preferred radius. Isn't it cool? Imagine having a backyard sale and I wanted to invite my sorrounding neighbors, I have the means to broadcast that message.
The catch is it would only deliver the broadcast to 5 Miles users. That's closing back the market to so few people (have you heard of this site? Neither do people in my neighborhood).
